Our Toolbox

As first time homeowners and DIYers, we wish we had a one stop shop of items that were affordable but would last. As always, we recommend checking out your second hand websites, marketplace and your local tool library before buying anything new. However, for the days you need something quick, here’s the tools we use:

  • Vacmaster WD L30 240V Dust Extractor - this is a mighty vacuum, for an affordable price! We needed a new one when our trusty old industrial vacuum died, and have been massively impressed with this little warrior. With power take off socket to plug-in your power tools, HEPA filter, wet and dry functions and a blow setting, this little vacuum packs a lot in for a great price. Use code NUMBER4 for 10% off

  • Erbauer Cordless Multitool - we’ve had this piece of kit for a couple of years now, and it quickly became our favourite tool. With multiple different heads for sawing, sanding and scraping, it’s often the tool we reach for in most DIY tasks.

  • Erbauer Cordeless Combi Drill and Impact Driver - This handy cordless set was the first tools that Paloma ever bought and saw us through an entire van build, maintenance and now the house renovation. Three years on, and lots of dropping and knocks later, their still going strong.

  • Evolution Mitre Saw - I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to buy a tool in my life! After building an entire van with a unreliable jigsaw and handsaw, we decided to treat ourselves with this beautiful piece of kit. It cuts through loads of different materials, you can change the angles for an accurate cut and it’s even got a sexy laser so no need to rely on your wobbly pencil markings anymore! This made our life so much easier when cutting our floorboards and was so worth the price tag for the time we saved.

  • Ryobi Panel Light - we waited way too long to get ourselves a powerful light and now we can’t imagine life without it. It’s cordless, super bright, light and adjustable so it can fit in awkward places and ensure you can see what your doing, even after night has fallen. It was a godsend for working in the attic!

  • Plastic Mitre Box - It took us a frustratingly long time to find the right mitre box to cut our larger-than-average coving, so when I finally brought this one home, I was over the moon. Super simple to use, we clamped pieces of offcuts to adapt it to the different size coving that we had. Guide to coving coming soon!
